Tokyo reported another 127 cases today, even though testing numbers had dropped over the weekend. More than 9000 tests were conducted yesterday, so the case count needs to be watched carefully over the next few days. Meanwhile, the health ministry has said that more than 850,000 people in Japan could be seriously ill and 400,000 of them could die if strict social distancing measures are not taken. One of the main reasons for the massive death count would be attributed to an acute shortage of ventilators required to treat critically ill patients.
