More than 80 new cases reported in Tokyo again as PM Abe is expected to formally declare a state of emergency in 7 prefectures in the next few hours. The emergency shall remain in effect till May 6th.

PM Abe set to declare an emergency applicable to 7 prefectures in Japan (including Tokyo and Osaka). The emergency is expected to remain applicable for a period of 1 month. The specific implications of this action are not yet clear but we expect that clarification to come in the coming hours.
